On Google Maps it takes pictures of like places how do they do that and like when do they take these pictures?

On Google Maps it takes pictures of like places how do they do that and like when do they take these pictures?
most of the images on Google maps and Google earth are years old. Google rents the right to take these photos from Nasa's satellites. It isn't possible to update most of those photos that in anything short of a year. The technology is still very primitive .





but most are well over 2 or 3 years old
Reply:the satelite images are taken wiht a satelite, and there are updated way less than once an hour. my home town on recently got redone, and hte previosu image was nearly four years old,, though on big cities etc it might betaken more frequinlty, but were still taking months fastest.


the streetview picks are taken by a car that drives tound with a ring of cameras planted on top that tkaes a pic every few metres.

Reply:Satalite.. of course now Google has people in vans taking panoramic photos of the ground and putting it on google maps... that's pretty cool
