Ofcourse it depends on my connection speed, but assuming its fast enough, do wikimapia and google maps websites open on this phone?

Short answer is yes. However you might want to use Opera Mini as it offers good browsing experience. I started using Google Maps on my phone and my phone bill just exploded :-(
