How is it possible GOOGLE MAPS has the technology to look up from the ground?

I was checking out my address on google maps and WOW! there was a picture of my house. I was F, "en " around and started to hit arrows and "WTF" i had a view of the street lights and the sky??????? I've heard of the eye in the sky like in the casinos you know, but it was really wierd to see the sky view. How the hell did Google do it? Did they go around all over the world and take pics from every street at every angle????
How is it possible GOOGLE MAPS has the technology to look up from the ground?
They've dispatched cars with 360 degree cameras mounted on top. There is plenty of information on the web about how they did it. Pretty simple really.
Reply:Look straight down and you can see the truck with the camera on it that went through our neighborhoods taking pictures of our houses. They have been doing this in every major city for a couple years now.
