Customize Google maps for my own website?

If someone comes on to my website I want them to be able to search for specific locations on Google Maps inside my site that I setup, if you check out ononemap.com, this uses the same idea about showing where houses are for sale in the UK, type in your post code and you'll see what I mean.

Is there any way for me to do this?
Customize Google maps for my own website?
What I did was, on my own (outside the website), go to the location I wanted, then zoom in EXACTLY as desired (no more, no less) and get a street view or map view or...whatever. Then copy the resulting URL from the address bar of the browser. Then use THAT url as a link in the website. The website visitor can then explore from there. (With Google maps you can also set several locations on the same map and have the little pointers showing up. Do it, and copy THAT URL for linking.) Works like a champ.
