My answer would be sign up with Lunarpages, install joomla for free, then install google maps extention for free on your joomla web site. All the things that I said takes less than 10 minutes if you know what you are doing. That's the easiest way. If you want more information about what I just said visit the site below, they have a very good articles about cpanel control panel and the good hosting companies that are offering it.

How can i set up google maps api with php and mysql with Yahoo web hosting?
Ok, the maps integration is pretty much client side for API users. If you check out http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documen... I would suggest running through a few examples. If you are looking to track different information about locations or routes, then I would extend those examples to add some ajax functions to be able to use that information client-side. http://www.prototypejs.org/ to download the popular prototype.js which will allow you to easily start making asynchronous calls.
I would also recommend that you consider another host such as:
http://www.GotHosting.org as they provide you with a nicer cpanel interface with instant installs of forums/blogs and other useful software not to mention easily setting up email accounts, sub domains, and addon domains.
Hostgator is pretty good too, but i'd recommend using a coupon site for a discount i.e http://www.hostingdiscounted.com
