How old are the ariel photos on google earth and google maps and how can i get a newer version free of charge?
The picture of my house doesn't have my fence there..and it was put up 4 years ago! I'd like to know if there is an up to date one too so I'll be watching your relults!
Reply:I think it says between one and three years old on the home page. I don't know how to update it, I think you get the most up to date pictures they can show.

I think that the most populated areas are updated more frequently I know my neighborhood is about three years old, but New York City is probably about a month old
Google earth is without doubt the most awesome place on the internet, imagine what it will be like ten years from now!
Reply:The latest version of the program is Google Earth 4.0.2722. Updated maps become available automatically. If you have better maps or aerial photos you can put them in your own copy as a layer on top of GE, but it is a bit tricky to do.
Where I live is shown really fuzzy and low resolution. It's a bit disappointing for that. I do wonder sometimes what is hiding under the fuzz.
