Do aerial maps provided by Mapquest, Yahoo and Google provide blueprints for terrorists?

Just makes it too easy to plan an attack if you have a pretty detailed view of the target.

Could they help a little? Sure. Are they vital aids? No.

Those aerial images have to be at least a year old before they are posted on the internet. They also do not allow the user to zoom in as close as the military systems like them do.

For example. I'm going to conduct a raid on a mall. I can zoom in just enough to see where the entrances are, and a few of the overhead windows. I wouldn't even know what those things were had I not been there several times already. I can't get an idea of elevation and relief, and oh, by the way, that entrance is no longer there... Am I making sense?
Reply:Probably I am sure it helps
Reply:In a very general way the answer is 'yes'. But what then do we do: burn all the maps?

"We have nothing to fear but fear itself." FDR
Reply:Somehow it will help them.
Reply:No it does not, you and I have just as good a view of things and can take just as good, if not better, pictures and then send them to the terrorists. If you think that there are no terrorists living around you, you are SADLY mistaken! The reason they are not making themselves known is opportunity. They will continue to just wait until the opportunity avails itself for them to attack. The US is an open Country and MILLIONS of tourists come every year, some are here for reasons besides there stated reasons.
